Ashby Family LEAD & Engagement Services

At Ashby Family LEAD & Engagement Services, we provide compassionate and individualized care, educational & social programs, and services & supports for Individualizes with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Clark and Cowlitz counties. Our Non Profit is dedicated to serving the needs of Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (as well as their families) in a culturally responsive and equitable manner.

Our organization recognizes the importance of understanding the history of underserved communities. We foster an inclusive environment, where we want everyone to feel welcome, included, respected, and valued.

Programs & Services

The Benefit Resource & Connection Hub “BRCHub”

The BRCH provides essential resources and direct support for our customers. Services include emergency grants, community engagement scholarships, basic needs resources, and accessible technology.

Individuals receive assistance from the Basic Needs Navigator, who coordinates with existing service providers and conducts outreach to local community services, supports and programs.

LEAD & Mentorship Program

LEAD & Mentorship Program -Learn, Explore, Access, and Demonstrate (LEAD) Program & Mentorship offers a workshop series that assists participants to develop self-sufficiency for independent living. 

The LEAD & Mentorship program offers educational workshops in Academic Success & Exploration and Personal Enrichment, Culturally Responsive and Inclusive Life Skills Development.  The program includes paid Peer Mentorship where mentors with IDD support and re-enforce participant’s learning and access to and use of critical resources and supports.  Both the Peer Mentor and Mentee benefit from building Competence, Confidence, Connection, Character, Caring and Compassion. Ashby Family Center Activities

Ashby Family Activity Center offers year-round classes, specialized services, and community outings for young adults and older individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other cognitive or developmental disabilities.

Our programs develop skills in music, the arts, job and life skills, health and wellness, recreation, socializing, communication, and relationship-building. We support learners of all abilities with activities that foster growth, connection, and community participation.

During the registration and intake process, we help you choose activities that best fit your interests and goals. Our quarterly course catalog and calendar provide details on available classes, outings, and support groups.

    1 hour: $30 or 4 Units of Respite

    1.5 hours: $35 or 6 Units of Respite

Smoothies, Snacks, & Socials: 1 & 1/2 Hours:

Get ready for non-stop fun, delicious smoothies, mouthwatering snacks, and epic board game battles at our Smoothies & Snacks: Board Game Bonanza event! Join us as we roll the dice, strategize, and outwit our opponents in a friendly competition that's sure to bring laughter and excitement. Cool Coping Club: 1 Hour

Join the Cool Coping Club and learn awesome ways to handle life’s challenges. From creative problem-solving to healthy coping strategies, this workshop makes dealing with difficulties fun and rewarding!

 

Mind-Body Connection: 1 Hour

Join the Mind-Body Bonanza to explore how your physical health impacts your emotional well-being. Engage in holistic activities that promote a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

 

Positivity Party: 1 Hour

Celebrate the power of positive thinking at our Positivity Party! Engage in gratitude games and optimism exercises that boost your mood and bring more joy into your life.

Life Skills: 1 Hour

Join Healthy Relationships 101 and explore the secrets to building strong, positive connections. Through engaging role-plays and discussions, you'll learn about effective communication, setting boundaries, and creating lasting, healthy relationships.

Our dedicated team ensures that your loved ones receive the highest level of care, allowing you to rest and recharge with peace of mind. How to Join our Program

START HERE:

Step 1: Join us for an INFORMATION SESSION to learn more about our Programs, Supports, & Services. Register for an Information session: Monday’s (In-person or via zoom) from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, call us at 360-729-7020 or email us at info@ashbynonprofit.org

Step 2: Fill out and submit the Intake & Initial Screening form. An Ashby Family Program Coordinator will follow up with you within 48 hours of receiving the initial screening and intake form.

Step 3: Schedule your Intake appointment

Step 5Register here for classes or download a PDF registration form to drop off at the office.

Step 6: Pay for your classes or Individualized Services or let us know if you will use your DDA/DSHS Waiver.

Meet Our Founders

Michael Cruse, MS

Executive Director

Serving as the Executive Director, Michael Cruse brings over two and a half decades of experience in supporting Individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities through case management and direct support. His professional portfolio also includes significant involvement in youth truancy, community re-engagement support for justice-involved individuals, alcohol and drug counseling, special needs counseling, as well as leadership and group facilitation. Michael is highly skilled in mediation and conflict resolution, and community outreach and assessment.
